Kathy Innes - Therapist
Our modern day lifestyle can lead us to spend more time on our laptops, tablets and phones becoming more inactive, and on the other hand the advent of 24 hour gyms and all the latest exercise regimes can mean we go from 0-100 in a short space of time. Our bodies are having to cope more physically and mentally with the stresses we place it under in our everyday lives, inevitably this leads to dysfunction and pain.
Kathy took a keen interest in fitness after she left a stressful job in The City, she was lucky enough to train with the renowned Pilates Institute over a decade ago and continues to use Pilates with her clients to rehabilitate from injury and specialises in back pain.
Seeing many of her clients improve with Pilates but still struggling with pain she felt that she needed to learn more about how the body worked, this inspired Kathy to graduate with one of the leading Sports Massage Schools in Europe, NLSSM. Our bodies are unique and Kathy approaches each client with this in mind, she continues to learn more and is continually developing her skills as a therapist.
Shortly after graduating with NLSSM School of Sports Massage she was invited back to join the team. Kathy shares her passion for sports massage by tutoring at the college, and gains personal satisfaction from helping students on their career path within the industry.
As a teacher, Kathy uses her friendly and approachable manner to help educate her clients, believing that knowledge is paramount in their own recovery.
Kathy, the person.
When Kathy is not attending courses, she enjoys the competitive aspect of exercise. Kathy has always loved tennis and her dream of attending Wimbledon was fulfilled a few years ago, only ever having played tennis as a child, she was inspired by the professionals to take up the sport and is a member of her local tennis club.
Kathy is the very proud mother of two beautiful sons, one of whom is travelling the world and the other at Reading University.
